This policy explains what data HitchList ("we", "this site") processes when you visit, and the choices you have.
Checklist progress stays on your device
When you check items off a checklist, your progress is saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and clearing your browser data removes it. There are no accounts and no server-side storage of your activity.
Analytics and advertising (consent-based)
If analytics or advertising are enabled on this site, we show a consent banner on your first visit. Until you choose "Accept," no analytics or advertising scripts load and no related cookies are set. If you accept:
- Google Analytics 4 may collect anonymized usage statistics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) to help us understand which checklists are useful. IP anonymization is enabled.
- Google AdSense may set cookies to serve and measure ads. Google and its partners may use these cookies to personalize advertising. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and learn more at How Google uses information from partner sites.
You can decline, and the site works identically. To change your choice later, clear this site’s data in your browser and the banner will ask again.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links (marked and described on our disclosure page). Clicking one takes you to the merchant’s site, where that merchant’s own privacy policy applies. The merchant may attribute your visit to this site via standard referral parameters.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived technical logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and reliability, as virtually all web hosts do.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
